Part 2: Cool Kawasan Falls, Barangay Matutinao, Badian
1. From Brgy Tan-awan, ride a bus to Bato.
Travel time: 20-30 minutes
Bus fare (non-airconditioned): Php20
2. From Bato, transfer to a bus that will pass by Barangay Matutinao, Badian to see Kawasan Falls (it’s the same route to Moalboal).
3. Get off at Brgy. Matutinao, Badian (landmark: Matutinao church)
Travel time: 1.5 – 2 hours
Bus fare: Php50
It’s just a short easy walk to the first of the 3 falls so ignore the men offering guide services. Pay Php20 per person as entrance fee. The first falls, the biggest, is the picnic area. Tables and chairs are available for rent.
WHAT TO PAY:
Entrance fee – Php20 each
Table for rent – Php300
Bamboo Raft (to take you under the waterfalls) – Php300
We only went to the first falls, like we intended, and had lunch there. The clean turquoise waters of the lagoon is breathtaking…and cold. The trick is to stay in the water for a little while to get your body accustomed to the cold. But if you want to be more adventurous, go see all 3 waterfalls. You may need a guide for this.
